In recent years we have expanded our facilities extensively to improve efficiency and productivity.  We have separate workshops for blasting, wrapping and painting.

We also have a state of the art mobile facility for internal abrasive pipe blasting and internal pipe painting, operational throughout Ireland & UK.

Project Title: Refurbishment of 750NB pipe coating for the SWOS reinforcement project

Project Description:
The SWOS reinforcement project involves the twinning of the SWSOS between Cluden and Brighouse Bay in the United Kingdom with the construction of a 914 mm steel transmission pipeline for a distance of approx. 50km in Southwest Scotland. The project will complete the onshore section of the 2nd interconnector linking the GNI (Ireland) and National Grid (UK) transmission systems.

Refurbishment of a number of 750NB pipes for the South West Scotland Onshore System (SWSOS) Reinforcement project, works included :

  • Undertake the role of PSCS for the entire works
  • Collection of various pipes ( 10 & 13 M in Length ) from a range of storages throughout Ireland, transport to our workshop in Cork.
  • Undertake the refurbishment of all internal coating.
  • Inspect and repair of damage to external coating.
  • Rebevel all pipe ends and apply a temporary protection.
  • Grit blast exposed external surface at ends of pipes.
  • Hard stamp pipe identification data onto each pipe.
  • Return refurbished pipes to Pipe Storages.
